The objectives of the trial are:

  1. To demonstrate an Internet Protocol (IP) connected bus for both on-bus ancillaries compliant EN13149 parts 7/9 and air interface using Real Time Information Group (RTIG) to Back Offices using Service Interface for Real Time Information (SIRI) and Network Timetable Exchange (NeTEx).
  2. To demonstrate architecture for interoperability between on-bus Automatic Vehicle Location System (AVLS) and Service Control across multiple vendors and between Back Office AVLS Integrator using open standard protocols for Service Control and Real Time Passenger Information.
  3. Evaluation of current and draft standards, arising from EBSF specifications feeding into the European Committee for Standardization, to identify gaps in achieving full interoperability and make recommendations for further work to close the gaps.
  4. To implement and evaluate the EBSF and RTIG over the air interface to identify enhancements necessary to ensure a robust protocol and consider the potential for standardisation in CEN.

IT Standard Introduction in Existing Fleets
London demonstration will perform the first introduction of standardised IT architecture, including public transport applications like AVMS (Automated Vehicle Monitoring System) in a complex multi-supplier environment.

The tests will focus on on-bus installation and interoperability of on board intelligent transport systems (ITS), ITS back offices and over the air IT interfaces.
